Daumantas Čepulis

(Lithuania)

Daumantas Čepulis is a musician and dance teacher. He has been dancing from a young age, learning dancing from his mother and participating in various folklore ensembles. Furthermore, he spent a year in Norway improving his dancing skills. After returning to his native Lithuania, he turned his attention to analysis of Lithuanian folklore with the aim of better understanding tradition and learning to simulate traditional dancing techniques. His dance teaching is based on long lasting dancing experience and practise in Lithuania and abroad. He is a self-taught musician and learned to play music in the course of dancing events. Daumantas plays a 2 row button accordion and bandoneon, performing either solo or with friends. Today, he is leading the traditional dance club in Vilnius (TŠK, Tradicinių šokių klubas), teaching dancing and playing during dance parties.
