Seminar – Breton song and dance tradition

Brittany in Northwest France is home for France’s indigenous people – bretons. Their songs remind Estonians their regilaul – there is a lead singer and others repeat the verse. All of the dance tradition in Lower Brittany is related to this type of singing. This kind of singing and moving around in circle is supposedly one of the earliest forms of dance. Our guests will talk more about this and also about the instrumental music and themselves related to the tradition.
