Katariin Raska

Katariin Raska is an Estonian multi-instrumentalist whose domain encompasses both Estonian traditional music and contemporary improvisational music. She became acquainted with the jew’s harp in 2007. After playing mainly Norwegian jew’s harp music for a few years, she has since dedicated herself to Estonian music. As a passionate representative of Estonian traditional playing style, she has taken on the mission to spread and introduce Estonian music played on the jew’s harp all over the world. In addition to Estonian festivals, she has performed jew’s harp solo concerts at Umefolk in Sweden, Rudolstadt in Germany, as well as in Ireland and Russia. In 2018, Katariin released a solo album titled “PARMU PILL” featuring the jew’s harp. In December 2023, in collaboration with musicians Leanne Barbo and Natali Ponetajev, a double album featuring the music of Kirbla musician Jaan Ranna was released. Among other things, Katariin has organized the Estonian Jew’s Harp Festival and, and since 2023, the Läänemaa Jew’s Harp Camp.
