Krista and Raivo first played together in duo-format in 1994 at the Viljandi Culture Academy. At the time, Krista was a young student and Raivo a fresh teacher in the department of traditional music. Mutual interest in traditional playing styles soon lead to a shared life also outside of music. Today, Krista and Raivo have been partners for over thirty years, and every now and again they take to the stage in the original form of their partnership: a duo of musicians, presenting the traditional style of Estonian fiddle-playing.
At this year’s Sabatants, Krista and Raivo offer us the best of century-old fiddle repertoire from Pärnumaa region: greatest hits of from Vändra, Tori and Kihnu.
