Mats Berglund is one of the strongest and most experienced ambassadors of the traditional music of Värmland in the west of Sweden. Mats has been digging deep in archives and have met musical characters from the old in both Sweden and Norway. This thorough work have shaped his distinctive style and has been – and still is – a big inspiration for many musicians and dancers. The impact and importance of his works as a fiddler, melodeon player, reviver of the finnskogspols and Härjedalspipa is questioned by none.
Together with Jonas Beckman and Andreas Ralsgård, Mats has formed a powerful trio. Since the start of the millennium they have performed for listening and dancing audiences throughout Sweden and Norway. The massive sound of fiddle, cello and saxophone has become the trademark of the trio. Polskas of many different kinds, schottises, waltzes and hallingar are mixed in a rich and varied repertoire that always keep the dance floor crowded.
The trio is excited and look so much forward to come to Sabatants 2026 and to perform in Estonia for the first time!
