Sophie&Leanne are joined this year by Monika Väliste and is about to play a whole set of West Danish island Fanø south village Sønderho dances called Sønderhoning and also some north village Nordby dances called Fannick. Duo was established when Sophie Meyer, born on Fanø and studied fiddle with islands fiddle guru Peter Uhrbrand happened to study composition in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Helena Tulve. The first public concert of the duo took place in Tokyo, Japan, but after that we have played for dance (and for listening of course) both in Denmark and Estonia.
